EXPLORING LANGUAGE OPPORTUNITIES: VISD HOSTS DUAL LANGUAGE PARENT INFORMATION SESSIONS

The VISD Multilingual Department is excited to announce the upcoming Dual Language Parent Information Sessions for current VISD Pre-K and incoming Kinder parents and guardians. These sessions offer a unique opportunity to explore the enriching Dual Language Program at Crain Elementary for the 2024-25 school year.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS: BUILDING A STRONG FOUNDATION FOR YOUNG STUDENTS

The impact of student attendance on educational achievement is a matter of significant importance. Chronic absenteeism among 3, 4, and 5-year-old students in VISD has raised concerns about the potential consequences and long-term impacts on academic progress.


Within the first semester of the current school year, approximately 500 of VISD's youngest students missed 10% or more days of school, highlighting the need for immediate attention to this issue.

EAST AND WEST POWERLIFTING SHINE AT STATE MEET


This past weekend, the Victoria East High School and Victoria West High School boys powerlifting teams competed in the Texas High School Powerlifting Association (THSPA) Division 1 State Championship in Abilene, Texas. 


The event was highly competitive, with over 100 schools showing up to perform their best. Despite the stiff competition, both teams displayed remarkable determination, putting up an impressive display of strength.
